How to use AI to style the clothes you already own.

AI stylists, virtual try-on, outfit planners. What actually helps, what’s hype, and a five-minute routine you can try tonight, without buying a thing.

The best AI stylist doesn’t sell you anything. It looks at what you already own and finds the outfits you haven’t noticed yet.

01 What an AI stylist actually does

An AI stylist combines three things: a digital wardrobe (photos of your clothes, tagged by type, colour and season), context (weather, occasion, what you wore recently), and a model that has learned which combinations work. Ask it for a look and it assembles one from your pieces, not a retailer’s catalogue.

  1. Your closet

Snap each piece. Background removal and tagging happen for you.

  2. Your context

Weather, the occasion, and what you wore on Monday.

  3. Your taste

Every look you save or skip teaches it what “very you” means.

02 The five-minute routine

  1. Min 0–2

Add the ten things you wear most. Don’t try to digitise the whole closet tonight.

  2. Min 2–3

Pick tomorrow’s occasion and let the AI generate five looks at once.

  3. Min 3–4

Try your favourite on with one photo of yourself. Keep it or swipe on.

  4. Min 4–5

Drop it into tomorrow on your planner. Done. Go to bed.

03 Virtual try-on, honestly

Modern try-on uses image generation to dress a photo of you in your own garments. It’s great for judging proportion and colour (does the long coat swallow me? does burgundy work near my face?). It’s less reliable for exact fit, so treat it as a preview, not a tailor.

“Treat try-on as a preview, not a tailor.”

04 What AI can’t do (yet)

It can’t feel fabric, know that the wool trousers itch, or remember the jeans are at the dry cleaner unless you tell it. The best results come when you treat the AI like a well-read friend: great ideas, final call is yours.

05 AI styling FAQ

Can AI pick outfits from my own clothes?

Yes. Apps like Attiri build outfits only from the items in your digital wardrobe, so every suggestion is something you can wear today.

How accurate is virtual try-on?

Very good for colour, proportion and overall vibe. Use it to decide between looks, not to check exact fit.

Is my photo private?

In Attiri, your try-on photo is used only to generate your previews, and you can change or delete it any time.
