7 outfit formulas that work with what you already own.
Great dressers don’t start from scratch every morning. They repeat a few reliable recipes and change the ingredients. Here are seven to steal.

An outfit formula is a recipe: a fixed structure with swappable ingredients. Learn seven, and you’ll never stare at a full closet again.
01 Why formulas work
Decision fatigue is real, and getting dressed is often the first decision of the day. A formula removes the blank page. You’re not asking “what do I wear?” You’re asking “which knit goes in the knit-and-denim slot today?” That question takes seconds.
02 The 7 formulas
The off-duty uniform
Striped knit + straight jeans + loafers
Works for studio days, coffee runs and casual Fridays. Half-tuck the knit so the jeans’ waist shows.
The quiet power look
Light blazer + dark trouser + simple top + structured bag
Light-over-dark makes a blazer read intentional. Keep the top plain so the jacket does the work.
One loud thing
Statement piece + everything else neutral
The orange trousers, the printed skirt. Let one piece speak and keep the rest in cream, white or denim.
Dress + a contrast layer
Slip dress + knit or blazer + flat or heel
A knit makes an evening dress work at 11am. A blazer makes it work at the office. Same dress, three days.
Tonal dressing
Three shades of one colour + one texture change
Camel coat, oatmeal knit, cream trouser. Looks expensive, needs zero colour theory.
High–low
One dressy piece + one casual piece
Blazer over lace and jeans for gallery-then-drinks. The friction is the point.
The weather-proof default
Knit + trouser + coat + boot or loafer
For the grey mornings when you can’t be bothered. It will never let you down.
03 Make them yours
Pick the three formulas that match your actual week, not your fantasy one. Then, for each, find two or three ways to fill every slot from your closet. Three formulas × three variations is nine outfits you can do half-asleep.
“You’re not asking what to wear. You’re asking which knit goes in the knit slot.”
04 Let AI do the maths
Filling the slots is exactly what an AI stylist is good at. In Attiri, start with one piece (say, the orange trousers) and it styles the rest from your digital wardrobe, then shows the look on you before you get dressed.
05 Outfit formula FAQ
What is an outfit formula?
A repeatable outfit structure (like knit + jeans + loafers) where you swap the specific pieces each time.
Won’t I look the same every day?
No more than a chef repeats a dish. Colour, texture and proportion change the outcome every time.
How many formulas do I need?
Three is enough for most weeks: one for work, one for weekends, one for evenings.
